Fostering Connections is a Tulsa-based nonprofit with a mission to improve the lives of children in Oklahoma’s child welfare system by providing essential goods and tangible support to foster, kinship, guardianship, safety plan, trial reunification, and adoptive families.

Our Purpose
Through our Resource Center, we offer essential items like clothing, hygiene supplies, school gear, and more, all free of charge. Whether it's a same-day placement or a family navigating ongoing challenges, we’re here to make sure no child goes without.
But we’re more than just a supply closet. We’re a connection point—a place where foster families, kinship caregivers, and teens aging out of care can find a community of support, hope, and respect.
Together, with volunteers, donors, and partner organizations, we’re building a system of care that reflects the dignity and worth of every child.
Who We Help
Children in the child welfare system may be placed in foster care, kinship care, guardianship, or other temporary arrangements for their safety. Fostering Connections provides essential items and resources to support children in all types of out-of-home care, ensuring stability during life’s transitions.

Our History
Fostering Connections has deep roots in the Tulsa community, built on a legacy of service dating back to 1948. The organization began when the Children’s Services Advisory Board, which had long supported children in DHS custody, merged with the Tulsa Community Children’s Foundation (established in 2004). This merger formed Tulsa Advocates for the Protection of Children (TAPC) in 2006, an organization dedicated to meeting the unmet needs of children in foster care.
As the needs of the community evolved, so did the organization. In 2019, the TAPC board and leadership team launched a rebranding effort to better reflect the mission and work being done on the ground. In June 2020, TAPC officially began operating as Fostering Connections, continuing its commitment to serving foster, kinship, and adoptive families across Oklahoma.
Today, we carry forward that same dedication, meeting families where they are and ensuring every child has what they need to feel seen, safe, and supported.
